OPEN POSITIONS:

PUBLIC RELATIONS SENIOR ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE

We are seeking a communications and public relations professional with five to seven years of experience to support our social services and education & youth development practice areas. This individual will lead and manage accounts, provide strategic communications counsel, planning, and implementation services; oversee stakeholder engagement through multiple channels; develop executive and organizational positioning; craft and execute public relations plans; and lead efforts on any crisis communications. We are seeking a creative, high-energy individual who can provide nonprofit clients with strategic counsel based on target goals and related audiences. The ideal candidate excels at writing and presenting and has experience with traditional and social media. They should have a solid track record of planning and executing PR and communications campaigns, and an established network of media contacts.

Salary commensurate with experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Develop and execute multi-channel communications programs for a variety of clients, based on clients’ organizational goals and target audiences. Work directly with clients in the social services and education and youth development practice areas to ensure goals are achieved.

Client services include strategic communications planning and execution, media relations, social media, donor communications, advocacy communications, promotional content development, online and print collateral development, the development and execution of various communications campaigns, and more.

The ideal candidate will become part of each client’s team, always working to guarantee the highest level of service.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Desire and drive to deliver the highest quality work with clients’ best interests and goals in mind.
  • Motivated and organized self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects and ensuring successful execution.
  • Skilled manager and supervisor willing to support a team of professionals to consistently improve service and outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Track record in developing and executing successful multi-channel communications programs with measurable goals.
  • Creative thinker always on the lookout for innovative ways to promote a client, program or story.
  • Strong multi-tasker who thrives working under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship and interpersonal communication skills.
  • 5 to 7 years in a communications role, ideally working for an agency or nonprofit.
  • Strong media contacts with an established network in the social service, education, and policy sector in the greater New York City/metropolitan area and nationally.
  • An understanding of New York City government and how it functions is preferred.

 

SALARY

$65,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

PUBLIC RELATIONS ACCOUNTS ASSOCIATE

Responsibilities:

The account associate will work with colleagues to formulate and execute communications programs for a variety of clients. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing targeted media lists
  • Drafting press materials (e.g., press releases)
  • Managing press interviews and events
  • Pitching reporters
  • Helping to maintain social media accounts
  • Researching and assisting in drafting content (e.g., newsletters, websites)

Qualifications:

  • One to three years in communications (preferably public relations or journalism)
  • Creative, strategic thinker
  • Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong multi-tasker who thrives on working under tight deadlines
  • Values diverse experiences
  • Strong familiarity with and interest in NYC news media
  • Experience with managing and building social media accounts
  • Fluency in more than one language preferred

Salary and Benefits:

$50,000+

While our firm is working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, typically staff work from our office and travel to clients’ offices and media events throughout the five boroughs.
