Amy is a New York Times-bestelling author with more than two decades of communications leadership. She was the first-ever press secretary for the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice, where she led communications on coastal resilience, environmental justice, building decarbonization, and more. A New York Times-bestselling author, she has written 13 fiction and non-fiction books and hundreds of articles for national and local outlets. Her non-fiction book The Man Who Hated Women won a First Amendment award from the HMH Foundation. Amy was the first-ever Albany reporter for Streetsblog NYC, where she covered transit and livable streets issues affecting New York City. She has also been a columnist at the New York Post and New York. She co-hosts the “LIT NYC” podcast, about arts and culture in New York City, with the nonprofit newsroom The City. Amy holds an MPA in Urban Development from the Marxe School at Baruch College and a BA in Public Policy from Brown University.
